How it works

Paste the error

Any stack trace or log: JavaScript, Python, Java, PHP and more.

Choose what to hide

Library frames, timestamps, repeated lines and private data.

Copy the clean version

Ready for a bug report, a forum question or an AI assistant.

Share the error, not your secrets

A real stack trace can run to hundreds of lines. Most of them belong to the framework or to third-party libraries and say nothing about your own mistake, so the useful lines are buried. And a raw log often contains things you should not paste into a public place: your username in every file path, an email address, an internal IP, an API key in a URL or a token in a header. This tool shortens the trace and masks the sensitive parts in one step, so you can share it with a colleague, a support team, a forum or an AI assistant.

What it does

  • Hides library frames. Lines that come from node_modules, Python's site-packages, the Java and Spring internals, the standard library and similar are replaced by a single note saying how many were hidden. Your own code stays.
  • Replaces user folders. Paths such as /Users/anna/project or C:\Users\Anna\project become ~/project, so your username and folder layout are not revealed.
  • Masks secrets. Bearer tokens, JSON web tokens, values that follow names such as password, secret or api_key, credentials inside URLs, email addresses, IP addresses and long random strings are replaced with a label.
  • Removes timestamps at the start of log lines, which makes it easier to compare two runs.
  • Collapses repeated lines into one line with the number of repetitions.
  • Cuts very long lines, such as minified code or serialized objects.

Which languages work

The tool recognizes the common formats: JavaScript and Node (at function (file:line:col)), Java and Kotlin, Python (File "...", line n, along with the source line), PHP, Ruby, Rust and Go style traces. It works with patterns, not by understanding the language, so an unusual format may keep some noise. Nothing is deleted from your own frames.

Check before you share

Masking is a safety net, not a guarantee. Read the result before you post it: business names, customer data, internal hostnames and anything unusual in a message may not be recognized. Only the version in the output box is changed, and what you paste stays in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

How do I shorten a long stack trace?
Paste it and keep Hide library frames selected. Lines from frameworks and libraries collapse into one note and your own code stays visible.
Is it safe to paste an error log into an AI assistant or a forum?
Only after removing private data. This tool masks paths, tokens, emails and IPs, but always read the result before you post it.
Which programming languages does it understand?
The usual stack trace formats of JavaScript, Java, Python, PHP, Ruby, Rust and Go. It works with patterns, so unusual formats may keep some noise.
Does it remove my username from file paths?
Yes. Home folders on macOS, Linux and Windows are replaced with ~.
Will it hide the line that shows the real error?
No. Only lines from libraries are hidden, and the message and your own frames are kept.
Is my log uploaded?
No. It is processed in your browser.
