How it works

Drop your photo

Any JPG, PNG or WebP image.

Draw boxes over what to hide

Faces, plates, screens, anything sensitive.

Apply and download

The covered areas are genuinely altered, not just covered by a layer.

Pixelation that actually destroys the detail

A quick sticker or a shape dropped over a face in a photo editor often just sits on top of the image, an object on its own layer that can be moved or deleted to reveal what's underneath. This tool works differently: pixelating an area genuinely shrinks that patch of the image down to a handful of blocky pixels and stretches it back up, throwing away the original detail in the process, not hiding it behind something removable.

Pixelate or solid color

Pixelation keeps a rough sense of shape and color while making faces, plates and text unreadable — the classic look from news broadcasts. A solid color block covers the area completely instead, useful when you want no trace of what was there at all.

Common uses

Blurring a stranger's face before posting a street photo, covering a license plate, hiding a screen full of personal information in the background of a screenshot, or blocking out a document lying on a desk — anything with sensitive detail you don't want visible in the final image.

Draw as many boxes as you need

A single photo often has more than one thing to hide — several faces in a crowd, a plate and a street sign, a screen and a sticky note. Draw as many boxes as the photo needs before applying; they're all pixelated or covered together in one pass.

Privacy

Your photo is processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is ever uploaded, which matters given this tool is usually used right before sharing an image publicly.

Frequently asked questions

How do I blur a face in a photo?
Drop the photo, drag a box over the face, and press apply — that area is pixelated for good, not just covered.
Is pixelation reversible?
No, the original detail in that area is discarded when you apply it, the same as how a broadcast blur can't be undone once aired.
Can I cover several things in one photo?
Yes, draw as many boxes as you need before pressing apply; they're all processed together.
Should I use pixelation or a solid color block?
Pixelation keeps a rough shape while hiding detail, the classic look for faces or plates. A solid color hides the area completely if you don't want any trace of it.
Can I undo a box before applying?
Yes, undo removes the last box you drew; once you apply, the change is permanent in the downloaded image.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens entirely in your browser.
