Everything your site needs, ready to use.

More than one icon, more than one size

A single small image used to be enough for a favicon; today browsers, phones and bookmark screens each ask for their own size and format, from a tiny 16×16 tab icon up to a 512×512 image for an installable web app. This tool takes one source image and produces every size at once.

What's in the package

A classic multi-size favicon.ico for the browser tab, standalone 16×16 and 32×32 PNGs, a 180×180 Apple touch icon for when someone adds your site to an iPhone home screen, and 192×192 and 512×512 PNGs for Android and installable web apps.

The HTML you need

Generating the images is only half the job — browsers also need to be told where to find each one. The ready-made HTML snippet below the preview links every file correctly; paste it into the <head> of your site once the files are uploaded to your site's root.

What makes a good source image

A square image with the important part centered scales down the most cleanly to a tiny 16×16 icon, where fine detail and thin text simply disappear. A simple logo mark or symbol reads far better at that size than a busy image full of detail.

No account, no build step

There's no need to run a build tool or install anything to get a favicon set; drop the image, wait a moment, and the ZIP and the HTML snippet are both ready to use immediately.

Privacy

Every size is generated locally in your browser. Your image is never uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

What files do I get?
A favicon.ico, 16×16 and 32×32 PNGs, a 180×180 Apple touch icon, and 192×192 and 512×512 PNGs for Android and web apps, all in one ZIP.
Where do I put these files?
Upload them to the root of your website, then paste the provided HTML snippet into the of your pages so browsers can find them.
What image should I use as the source?
A square image with the main shape centered works best, since it scales down cleanly even at the smallest 16×16 size.
Do I need to resize my logo myself first?
No, drop it at any size and every favicon size is generated automatically from it.
Why does the favicon.ico contain more than one image?
The .ico format can hold several sizes in one file, letting the browser pick whichever fits best; this tool bundles 16, 32 and 48 pixel versions into it.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens entirely in your browser.
