QR code with a logo

Make a QR code for a link, Wi-Fi, contact or text and place your logo in the center. The tool protects the code with stronger error correction and warns you when the logo is too large.

How it works

Fill in the content

A link, Wi-Fi, contact card, text and so on.

Add your logo

A PNG or SVG works best. Choose how much of the code it covers.

Test it and download

Scan it with your phone, then download the PNG.

A QR code that carries your brand

A plain black-and-white QR code is anonymous. A logo in the middle turns it into part of your brand and shows people what to expect before they scan. That is why menus, business cards, packaging and adverts often carry codes with a logo. The risk is that a logo hides part of the code, and if too much is hidden, phones can no longer read it. This tool places the logo in a way that keeps the code readable.

How a QR code can survive a logo

QR codes include redundancy called error correction, which lets a reader rebuild the message even if part of the code is damaged or covered. There are four levels, able to recover about 7%, 15%, 25% and 30% of the data. When you add a logo, you are deliberately damaging the code in the centre, and the correction pays for it. The tool therefore raises the level to at least Quartile as soon as a logo is added, and you can choose High for extra safety. The modules under the logo are left out and the logo sits on a clean background patch, so it is drawn sharply.

How big can the logo be?

The bigger the logo, the more data it covers. As a rule of thumb, keep it to about a fifth of the width of the code, and never more than about a quarter. You can set the size as a percentage, and the tool warns you above the recommended limit. A short piece of content, such as a brief link, gives a code with fewer modules, and a logo hides proportionally more of it, so a short link with a big logo is riskier than a long text with a small one. If the code does not scan, make the logo smaller, choose the High level or shorten the content.

Design tips

  • Use a simple logo with a transparent or plain background.
  • Keep a strong contrast between the code color and its background.
  • Do not invert the colors: many readers fail on light codes over dark backgrounds.
  • Keep the blank margin of at least four modules.
  • Always test with more than one phone and a real print, at the size it will have.

What it does not do

The tool cannot promise that every reader will scan a code with a logo: it warns you and it is up to you to test it. The SVG download has no logo, since embedding an image in a vector code causes problems in print workflows, so download the PNG for a version with the logo. Your logo is drawn locally and never uploaded. For a code without a logo, use the QR code generator.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a logo to a QR code?
Create the code, choose your logo image and set its size. The logo is placed in the center and the error correction is raised.
Will the QR code still scan with a logo?
Usually yes if the logo is small enough, about a fifth of the code or less. Always test it with your phone before printing.
How big can the logo be?
As a guide, up to about 20% of the width of the code. The tool warns you when it is larger than the recommended limit.
Why did the error correction change?
A logo covers part of the code, so a higher level is needed to recover the hidden data.
Which format should I download?
The PNG includes the logo. The SVG is only the plain code.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. It is drawn in your browser and never leaves your device.
