Added and removed lines, highlighted, with a similarity score.
A contract that came back with edits, a report revised by someone else, two exports of the same document a week apart: comparing two PDF files by eye, scrolling side by side, misses small changes easily and takes far longer than it should. This tool extracts the text from both documents and shows exactly which lines differ.
Both PDF files have their text extracted directly in your browser, then compared line by line using the same comparison engine as the plain text comparison tool. Lines removed from the original are marked, lines added in the new version are marked, and lines that did not change are shown for context. A similarity percentage gives a quick sense of how much changed overall.
This compares the text content of each PDF, the words themselves, not the visual layout, fonts or exact positioning on the page. Two documents that look different but contain the same words in the same order will show as identical; two that look almost the same but have different wording will show every changed line.
Scanned documents with no real text layer have nothing to extract and cannot be compared this way; run them through PDF OCR first if you need to compare their content. This tool also does not compare images, formatting or page layout, only the extracted text. Both files are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded.
