Pick the date and time
A holiday, a birthday, a deadline, an exam or a launch.
Pick a date and time and watch the days, hours, minutes and seconds tick down. Below it there is a simple timer you can set for a few minutes, with a beep when it ends.

A holiday, a birthday, a deadline, an exam or a launch.
It updates every second, and switches to time elapsed once the moment has passed.
Set minutes and seconds and press Start. It beeps when time is up.
Counting down to something is a small pleasure and a useful habit: the days until your holiday, the birthday, the wedding, the exam, the deadline for a project or the launch of a product. Seeing the time left in days, hours, minutes and seconds makes it concrete in a way that a date on a calendar does not. This page counts down live to any date and time you choose.
Choose the date and time of the event and, if you like, give it a name. The display shows the days, hours, minutes and seconds remaining and updates every second. Underneath there are the total days in decimal form and the total hours. When the moment passes, the display switches to counting the time since the event, which is handy for anniversaries and for "days since" counters. The target is taken in your own time zone.
Below the countdown there is an ordinary timer for cooking, workouts, study sessions, presentations or quick breaks. Enter the minutes and seconds, press Start, and it counts down in large digits. You can pause and resume it, or reset it. When the time is up, the digits blink and a short beep sounds, provided your device allows sound. The timer keeps time by the clock rather than by counting ticks, so it stays accurate even if the browser slows the page down when the tab is in the background.
The countdown and the timer run in this page, so they need it to stay open. If you close the tab or your device goes to sleep, they stop. The sound of the alarm may not play if the browser has silenced a background tab, so keep the page visible when the timer matters, and do not rely on it for safety-critical timing.
It does not save your events or send notifications when the page is closed. It is a quick tool, not a calendar or a reminder app. To find the exact number of days between two dates, use the date difference calculator.
