How it works

Choose the places

Two or three cities where the participants are.

Set the date and working hours

The meeting date and when the working day starts and ends.

Pick a highlighted hour

Those are the hours when nobody is outside working hours.

A time that suits everybody

Scheduling a meeting across time zones is a game of elimination: what is a comfortable mid-morning slot for one person is the end of the day for another and the middle of the night for a third. The usual approach is to convert one time at a time and hope. This tool instead lays out all 24 hours of the day for every place side by side and shows you at a glance the ones when everyone is inside working hours.

How to read the table

Each row is one hour of the day, starting from the first place you chose, and each column shows what time it is in that row for each place. A small +1 or −1 next to a time means it falls on the next or the previous day there. Rows where every place is within the working hours you set are highlighted, and above the table the good hours are summed up as time windows expressed in the first place's time, so you can copy them straight into an invitation.

Working hours

The default working day is 9 to 18, but you can change the start and end, for example to 8 to 20 to include early and late slots, or to 10 to 16 for a stricter core time. Widening the range makes more overlap, and it is a good way to see how much each side has to stretch. A meeting in someone's early morning or late evening is a cost that is worth sharing between the participants.

The date matters

Because daylight saving starts and ends on different dates in different countries, the overlap between two places can change during the year. The table is worked out for the exact date you choose, using the rules in force that day, so a meeting planned for the weeks when clocks have changed in one place and not in the other shows the right hours.

What it does not do

It considers a single working window for everybody and does not know about lunch breaks, weekends or local holidays in each place, so check the day of the week in every place. To convert one exact time to other zones, use the time zone converter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find a meeting time for different time zones?
Choose two or three places and the date. The tool highlights the hours when everybody is within working hours.
What if there is no good hour?
Widen the working hours, for example 8 to 20, or accept that one side will join outside its normal day and share that cost between meetings.
Does it handle daylight saving time?
Yes. The table is worked out for the date you choose, with the time zone rules in force that day.
What does +1 or −1 next to a time mean?
That the local date at that place is one day after or before the date in the first place.
Can I use it for more than three places?
This tool compares up to three. For a fourth, find the overlap for three and then check the fourth with the time zone converter.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The calculation is done in your browser.
