How it works

Fill in the details

Enter the information for this type of QR code; the code appears as you type.

Adjust the look

Choose the size, colours and error correction. Keep strong contrast between dark and light.

Download and test

Download the PNG or SVG, then scan it with a phone before you print it.

How to make an email QR code

To make an email QR code, type the recipient address in the form above and, if you like, a subject and a message. The QR code appears at once. Download it as PNG or SVG. When someone scans it, their phone opens the mail app with a new message already addressed, so they only need to press send. It is generated in your browser and not uploaded.

What is inside the code

An email QR code holds a mailto link, the same kind of address behind a Contact us link on a web page. For this page it is mailto:hello@example.com?subject=Question%20about%20your%20product. The subject and body are percent-encoded so that spaces and symbols survive.

Good uses

  • Feedback and support on printed material and packaging.
  • Event sign-ups where people email to register, with the event name as the subject.
  • Business cards and flyers that need a quick way to write to you.
  • Classified ads and posters that gather replies by email.

Write a helpful subject

A prefilled subject helps you sort replies: use one that names the campaign or the product, such as Poster March 2026, so that you know where each message came from. Keep the body short or leave it empty, since the longer the text, the denser and harder to scan the code becomes.

Things to remember

  • The message is sent through the scanner's own mail app, so it needs one set up.
  • Your address becomes visible to anyone who scans the code, and to spam robots if the code is published online.
  • Test the printed code with a phone before you print a large batch.

Private by design

The code is drawn by your browser on your own device. What you type, including passwords and contact details, is never sent to a server, and the finished image is yours with no watermark and no expiry.

Frequently asked questions

Will the email be sent automatically?
No. The scan opens a draft in the person's mail app and they choose whether to send it.
Can I add a subject and message?
Yes. Both are optional and are filled in when the mail app opens. Keep them short so the code stays easy to scan.
Does it work on all phones?
Yes. Any phone with a camera that reads QR codes and a mail app can open the draft.
Is there a limit to how many QR codes I can make?
No. There is no limit, no sign-up and no watermark; the codes are created in your browser.
Is this converter free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit, and it runs in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It works in any modern mobile browser, and the result updates as you type.
